ELnO BYOC (Bring Your Own Cowbell)
The Hook & Ladder Theater is very proud to present a very special outdoor concert event – ELnO is back again! Come spend a summer evening with the Twin Cities second best musical tribute to Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra!
ELnO has a fever! And the only prescription is, yep, you guessed it…MORE COWBELL! But wait, ELnO only has five cowbells. Where do you go from there? BRING YOUR OWN COWBELL night! That’s where!

For only the second time in ELnO’s rich history, we’re actually doing it! BYOC made its maiden voyage several years ago in the old Lee’s days and everything went exactly as planned. Well, OK. In truth, it was a bit of a sh*t show. But it sure was fun! And pretty hilarious! The rules are simple:
1. Bring a cowbell. Preferably one meant for percussive use and not for hanging around a cow’s neck. But bring whatever you got.
2. Play on the downbeats. No salsa beats, Tito Puente.
3. Don’t play cowbell on Telephone Line. Or any ballad for that matter. Just watch Jeff Lynne #1 for guidance.
It’s that easy! We’ve cooked up a particularly cowbell-centric set full of all the Electric Light Orchestra bangers as well as a few other cowbell classics. There might even be a special cowbell intense medley specially prepared just for this event!
Of course, you don’t HAVE to bring a cowbell. But it would be a lot cooler if you did! So, break out your fanciest pair of jorts and join us Under the Canopy at The Hook and Ladder Theater for this twice in a lifetime event! Ya gotta have more cowbell!
