Facing the Fire is a public art project devised by long time Howe resident and projection artist, Paul Herwig, and consists of performances of live animated projection art, and live and recorded music, featuring Queen Drea, taking place at locations along East Lake Street east of Hiawatha Avenue. "After the tragic death of George Floyd in May of 2020, violent civil unrest and riots erupted in the City of Minneapolis' Lake Street business corridor, resulting in the burning of entire properties and businesses. Many of the impacted business owners were black immigrants. To elevate the voices of these often unseen and unheard black immigrant business owners, City of Nations Storytelling Studio (CNSS) has produced this documentary film about their stories"
