Monthly Music Industry Meetup :: Harm Reduction
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Monthly Music Industry Meetup :: Harm Reduction
Join us as we welcome keynote presenter Martha Dewitt, Chemical Health Specialist with Mental Health Resources (MHR inc), who will be providing some education on harm reduction strategies. Martha is amazing! Whether you would like to be better about monitoring your personal use, or could use some helpful tips around healthy communication with loved ones, this keynote is bound to inspire some insight and broaden your lens around substance use. Though Space Between is not a sobriety group, we are harm reduction focused, we believe that creative pursuits do not require intoxication, and we support everyone regardless of where they’re at within their personal substance use journey.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Javier Trejo will unfortunately not be able to join us at this month’s Space Between, as originally planned. We look forward to rescheduling with Javier in the near future! Words of wisdom from Javier:
“When I got sober I wondered if I’d even be able to play or even like music the same.
Then after a while, it was never the music’s fault. Music has been my connection to the universe before anything. Before: money, ego, drugs, alcohol, pride….
The problem wasn’t music. The problem was me and the way I think. “
~ Javier
Space Between is a place outside of the music to share in the joys and pains of functioning within our music ecosphere.
Collaborate with like minded industry folks! For anyone who makes the music possible: artists, managers, agents, promoters, engineers, crew, venue staff, security, and family.
