EVENT DESCRIPTION
Hamell on Trial
with guest Faith Boblett
Hamell on Trial is the musical alias of New York-based folk punk hero Ed Hamell. A one-man explosion, he is loud-as-war one minute, stepping off the microphone to whisper to an enthralled audience the next. This is a dynamic performance informed by politics, passion, intelligence and the all-important sense of humor.
His caustic wit and devil-may-care attitude have long been a favorite of anti-establishment icons Aesop Rock, Kimya Dawson, Ani DiFranco and the critical elite inciting Rolling Stone magazine to call him “Bald, bold and superbad!”
Faith Boblett is a Minneapolis based singer-songwriter with roots in northern Minnesota and was named one of 2018’s Best New Bands by First Avenue. Boblett brings her own brand of pop, Americana, rock, and alt-country (“… she’s Minnesota’s grungy Sheryl Crow” -Jordan Alamat).
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
