afters is a concept. a time and place new and forgotten. it’s indie rock with surprising sensuality, a dark edge with pop sensibilities, a glimpse into the psyche of a young woman grappling with the human experience. it’s music for beginnings, and music for the end of the world.

Katy Tessman
With a voice full of the wisdom she’s gained through breast cancer survival, heartbreak, and motherhood, Katy Tessman is an optimistic and approachable songwriter who celebrates life’s stumbles and summits. Soaring to new heights with her eagerly awaited album, “Fly” marks her return to the stage after a twenty-year hiatus. Hailing from Minneapolis, Katy is also an award-winning children’s book author, celebrated as a CHANGEMAKER by Minnesota Women’s Press.
Dani Erin (vocals) is an original retro pop duo accompanied by Nathaniel Gillen (guitar). The pair has been writing music for the past 4 years, its an intricate play on everyday life and storytelling. Between Dani Erin’s smooth jazz vocals and Nathaniel’s intricate guitar styling, their music has something for everyone. When they aren’t performing as a full band they do a stripped down version of how their music originally began.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
