Osborne lends its name from the unit Trapper was in at a Minnesota rehab facility and is also a nod to the songwriter’s muse Ozzy Osbourne\, who attended the same facility.\n \nChanneling Black Sabbath\, Suicide and Springsteen\, his newest record is wildly different than anything Trapper has done. The band was born out of a desire to play technically challenging music derived from John’s influences ranging from Mahavishnu Orchestra\, The Dixie Dregs and King Crimson\, to name a few. Wright enlisted the aid of guitarist Dan Neale\, who brought to the table many deep Jazz influences in his advanced playing and composing style. Along with the band’s first drummer\, Mark O’Day\, the beginnings of Galactic Cowboy Orchestra were found. Soon after\, violinist (and John’s wife) Lisi Wright joined the band with her aggressive “electric guitar player plays violin” style and engaging stage presence to complete the band’s sound and look. Fast forward 16 years: 6 studio releases (and one live)\, 3 Downbeat Nominations\, a Minnesota Arts Tour Grant\, collaborations with symphony orchestras\, thousands of miles of touring and the band is just getting started.  \n\n \n2025 sees the GCO with a new studio release and a stronger than ever commitment to create the ultimate musical moment between the players and the audience with their Art Rock/Jazz Fusion creations.\n \nOVRFWRD is a four piece American band that plays instrumental progressive rock. They were formed in Minneapolis\, Mn in 2012 with drummer Richard Davenport\, guitarist Mark Ilaug\, bassist Kyle Lund and keyboardist Chris Malmgren. They came together with diverse and complex backgrounds with heavy musical influences from 70’s Prog Rock to the Jazz Rock genres. Their music is an adventurous listening experience with many paths of sonic textures and soundscapes to explore. OVRFWRD has performed and toured with King’s X\, Stick Men featuring Pat Mastelotto and Tony Levin of King Crimson\, John 5\, and in 2018 was the featured new band at North Carolina’s ProgDay Festival. In 2001\, the idea to form a Van Morrison tribute band was formed\, and Terry spent the rest of the year learning Van songs and building an all-star band\, with Joe Lockton on keyboards and Vic Volare running the horn section. The band played their first show at the old 400 Bar on Saint Patrick’s Day 2002.\n \nMany musicians played with the band over the first few years\, and continue to do so today\, but the ‘A’ team was soon established: Dan Kowalke on guitar and backing vocals\, Joe Baumgart (bass)\, Dave Kirby and Dave Haugen (drums\, backing vocals)\, Joe Loskota(keyboards\, backing vocals)\, Paul Gronert (sax)\, Matt Hanzelka (trombone)\, Tim Martin (trumpet)\, Vic Volare(sax\, flute) and Terry Walsh (lead vocals\, guitar\, harmonica\, piano). \n\n \nThe band has expanded its content over the years to include rock and soul covers along with Terry’s own originals\, which have become fan favorites. Now a beloved staple in Minnesota\, the 9-piece Belfast Cowboys averaged over 120 shows a year before the pandemic. The bar-tested troubadours are known for playing epic sets at their weekly Minneapolis gigs and drawing large crowds to outdoor festivals.
