We’ll have a holly jolly time as they help us celebrate the season. The band promises to incorporate rockin’ holiday tunes into their usual wide-array of Van Morrison and other rock songs. No matter if you’ve been naughty or nice\, this party will entertain you and your guests.\n \nThe Belfast Cowboys are a nine-piece\, horn-driven band from Minneapolis that specializes in the music of Van Morrison – mixing rock\, blues\, roots and soul sounds. Led by veteran songwriter and guitarist Terry Walsh and powered by a four-piece horn section\, the Cowboys have flourished in the renowned Minnesota music scene\, and have consistently packed houses and wowed crowds since 2002.\n \nTerry Walsh got his start playing in various Twin Cities rock bands and toured as Slim Dunlap’s bass player in 1997\, opening for Son Volt. In 2001 the idea to form a Van Morrison tribute band was formed\, and Terry spent the rest of the year learning Van songs and building an all-star band\, with Joe Loskota on keyboards and Vic Volare running the horn section. The band played their first show at the old 400 Bar on Saint Patrick’s Day 2002.\n \nMany musicians played with the band over the first few years\, and continue to do so today\, but the ‘A’ team was soon established: Dan Kowalke on guitar and backing vocals\, Joe Baumgart (bass)\, Dave Kirby and Dave Haugen (drums\, backing vocals)\, Joe Loskota (keyboards\, backing vocals)\, Paul Gronert (sax)\, Matt Hanzelka (trombone)\, Tim Martin (trumpet)\, Vic Volare (sax\, flute) and Terry Walsh (lead vocals\, guitar\, harmonica\, piano).\n \nThe band has expanded their content over the years to include rock and soul covers along with Terry’s own originals\, which have become fan favorites. Now a beloved staple in Minnesota\, the 9-piece Belfast Cowboys averaged over 120 shows a year before the pandemic. The bar-tested troubadours are known for playing epic sets at their weekly Minneapolis gigs and drawing large crowds to outdoor festivals. Occasionally they’ll venture beyond the Midwest to play Ireland\, Phoenix\, New York’s Times Square\, and once opened for the band Chicago in front of 15\,000 people.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

SUMMARY:Yuletide Sweater Ball - Pistol Whippin' Party Penguins with Maygen & The Birdwatcher\, and Steam Machine
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nThe Hook AND LADDER THEATER \n\nDoors 7:30pm :: Music 8:00pm \n\n21+\n\nGA: $15 EARLY / $20 ADV / $25 DOS \n\n\n COVID-19 Policies\n	\n\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n EVENT DESCRIPTION \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nYuletide Sweater Ball\nPistol Whippin’ Party Penguins\nwith guests Maygen & The Birdwatcher\, & Steam Machine \n—- \nJoin us as the Pistol Whippin’ Party Penguins return to the Hook & Ladder for their 16th annual Yuletide Sweater Ball!  Special guests Maygen & The Birdwatcher and Steam Machine will be joining in on the festivities.  These three talented and highly-acclaimed groups will keep the holiday party jumping throughout the evening.\nDon’t let the name fool you! The Pistol Whippin’ Party Penguins are not a violent group of flightless aquatic birds looking for a party – rather they’re 5 self-proclaimed gentlemen with 2 guitars\, a mandolin\, a bucket of fiddles\, an upright bass\, a banjo\, and 4-part vocal harmony\, combining folk\, rock\, blues\, bluegrass\, and some fully-loaded stage banter. Their combination of folk\, rock\, blues\, bluegrass\, and stage banter creates an experience that everyone can enjoy!\n \nMinneapolis folk sextet Maygen & The Birdwatcher took home wins for Album of the Year and Americana Artist of the Year on April 23 at the Midwest Country Music Organization’s annual awards show\, held in Arnolds Park\, Iowa. They received the accolades for their acclaimed 2022 release Bootleggin’ at the Flower Shoppe. The 2023 awards follow the 2021 Americana Artist of the Year and Album of the Year wins for their debut album Moonshine. \nMaygen & The Birdwatcher are a six-piece Americana band from Minnesota led by singers and guitarists Maygen Lacey and Noah Neumann.“Maygen & The Birdwatcher have it going on\, offering alluring vocals\, tight rhythms\, and fulgent streams of marvelous Americana.” – Guitar Girl Magazine\n \nOriginally formed in Minneapolis in 2017\, Steam Machine brought to the national stage a Midwest influenced string band aesthetic that didn’t draw such hard lines between bluegrass and old time music. Combining smooth\, powerful fiddling with rolling three finger banjo and front-of-the-beat rhythm backup\, the resulting sound was “bright and fresh\,” commanding\, and “suspiciously entertaining.” Fronted by award winning\, in-demand Minneapolis fiddler AJ Srubas and Twin Cities old time music/dance instigator Rina Rossi\, with the support of other gifted musicians. “Steam Machine is a stout example of the vitality of fiddle music up north these days.” (Old Time Herald)\n \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=90&v=MhksKbY4UR0 \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

SUMMARY:Monthly Music Industry Meetup :: Harm Reduction

Martha is amazing! Whether you would like to be better about monitoring your personal use\, or could use some helpful tips around healthy communication with loved ones\, this keynote is bound to inspire some insight and broaden your lens around substance use. Though Space Between is not a sobriety group\, we are harm reduction focused\, we believe that creative pursuits do not require intoxication\, and we support everyone regardless of where they’re at within their personal substance use journey. \nDue to a scheduling conflict\, Javier Trejo will unfortunately not be able to join us at this month’s Space Between\, as originally planned. We look forward to rescheduling with Javier in the near future! Words of wisdom from Javier: “When I got sober I wondered if I’d even be able to play or even like music the same. Then after a while\, it was never the music’s fault. Music has been my connection to the universe before anything. Before: money\, ego\, drugs\, alcohol\, pride…. The problem wasn’t music. The problem was me and the way I think. “ ~ Javier \nSpace Between is a place outside of the music to share in the joys and pains of functioning within our music ecosphere. \nCollaborate with like minded industry folks! For anyone who makes the music possible: artists\, managers\, agents\, promoters\, engineers\, crew\, venue staff\, security\, and family. \nEvery First Wednesday MonthlyThe Hook & Ladder (Zen Arcade) :: 7-9 pm6:45pm – Doors7:00pm – Social7:30pm – Topic Presentation8:00pm – Topic Collaboration8:45pm – Networking \nLed and organized by Mental Health Professional\, Mark Femling (LPCC) \n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Rabeca never stays in one place for too long—each song meanders from meditative solos to upbeat drum shuffles and rich chordal harmonies. Rabeca is Alex (keys and vocals)\, Anna (sax and vocals)\, Colleen (guitar and vocals)\, David (bass)\, and Satchel (drums).\n \nGoon Tribune\nGoon Tribune is a hip-hop\, G-Funk\, and electronic jazz band led by artist Ian McCarthy and bassist Nick Benish\, combined with a tight group of musicians: Andrew Tomten (Purple Funk Metropolis\, Tabah\, Wry Samurai) on Saxophone\, Tarek Abdelqader (Purple Funk Metropolis and A.P. Recorded with Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket\, Heartless Bastards) at Invisible Creature Studio in Los Angeles\, the 10-track effort was met with high praise upon its 2022 release. Accompanied by drummer Stephanie Williams’ melodically exacting rhythms\, Guillen’s emotive guitar playing aligns with her lyrics to meet at the crossroads of suffering and silver linings. As lauded by Under The Radar Magazine\, the duo evokes a “simple and timeless indie rock sound carried by Guillen’s chugging guitar and Williams’ driving drums\, yet they also show off effortless instrumental chemistry\, locking into an easygoing groove that gives both members a chance to shine.” \nAllergen is an indie rock band from Minneapolis\, MN fronted by Shannon Maroney. They mix crunchy riffs\, powerful vocals\, and emotional lyrics\, and as described by local music blog Ear Coffee\, “feels like a private conversation being broadcast to the world.” \nEmotions erupt in ELOUR’ s punk-edged Femme Rock\, resulting in catharsis and empowerment. ELOUR features the alluring songs\, vocals\, and stage presence of classically trained Elizabeth Ghandour. ELOUR (pronounced “allure”) is what Elizabeth Ghandour categorizes as Femm Rock. Elizabeth’s direct lyrics\, diverse background\, and classically trained voice\, combined with Ned Barclay’s soaring electric guitar\, Joe Scarpellino’s tasty bass\, and Ryan Vee’s creative drumming\, yields a sound that’s raucous and rebellious\, and yet very stylish. \n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

The high-octane MC\, Cold Sweat\, delivers his Golden-Age Hip-Hop style over a variety of musical stylings. In addition to the usual fatback rhythms\, you may hear some undercurrents of outlaw country\, disco\, and funk. The group weaves a tapestry of sound taking the listener through grungy\, boom bap beats that inspire good times. And\, always\, a trip to the moon. Say it with me now [high – uh – lie] \nSpace Monkey Mafia \nFrom somewhere deep within the hydrogen-rich nebula\, NGC 2174\, a new take on high-powered\, horn-driven rock has emerged: Space Monkey Mafia. Founded in 2016\, the six-piece band is rooted in the best parts of 90s/00s ska and punk\, infused with a healthy dose of contemporary influence\, and combined with a lyrical urgency and message to meet the moment. \nSoctopus \nLofi/hip-hop/electronic/pop from the Twin Cities\, MN – FriendlyLightheartedAngst “we’re a party band!” \n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

SUMMARY:Urban Heat\, Rare DM\, & Stranger Gallery
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nThe Hook AND LADDER THEATER \n\nDoors 8:00pm :: Music 8:30pm \n\n21+\n\nGA: $15 ADV / $20 DOS\n\n\n COVID-19 Policies\n	\n\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n EVENT DESCRIPTION \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\nUrban Heat\, Rare DM\, & Stranger Gallery\n\n\n \n\n“A lightning rod of dark electro/proto-punk/new wave/synth wave/part goth/part industrial sound that is all the things but… simultaneously transcending them into something fresher.” – Laurie Gallardo\, KUTX 98.9\n \n \nUrban Heat are a 3-piece American post-punk band from Austin\, TX. The band formed in 2019 when multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Jonathan Horstmann enlisted Kevin Naquin and Paxel Foley to form a live show based on his analog sound design. The result fuses dark 80’s stylings with modern flourishes\, with Horstmann’s throaty baritone delivering musings on existence and romanticism against an unrelenting industrial gothic pulse. Their live show is undeniably energetic and engaging\, earning them slots at Austin’s Levitation and Seattle’s Freakout Fest in 2021. They released 6 singles between 2019 and 2022 and while the pandemic saw their SXSW 2020 performance canceled\, they returned in 2022 as official artists.\n\nDance Music\, Dark Matter\, Direct Message\, Dungeon Master\, Distant Memory… People have tried to decipher the meaning behind the name Rare DM\, but really it’s the Brooklyn-based singer\, producer and multi-instrumentalist Erin Hoagg. Rare DM is Hoagg at her most vulnerable and visceral\, as she mines dates\, breakups and other adventures to make revealing\, romantic darkwave dance-pop music. With a collection of vintage analog synths\, Hoagg transforms the mundane into the magical\, transposing real DMs she’s sent and received into songs that reflect on the fractured nature of modern communication and online dating. Her songs are dark and deeply intimate\, rendering in raw detail the search for that special connection we all crave\, but rarely find. \nBack-of-the-class post-punks Stranger Gallery formed in the shadows and disintegration of 2020 for a series of outdoor shows. Veterans of the dark folk\, shoegaze\, and thrash scenes\, the band demonstrates equally broad emotional and sonic spectrums\, from twangy goth to blues punk\, with ballads\, and sardonic litanies. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

SUMMARY:BLACK FRIDAY with Timisarocker\, SYM1\, Yhante\, and Comrade Tripp

Treat yo self to a Black Friday party! Black Friday looks a lot like this” – Timisarocker \n\n \nUnsubscribed from reality as we know it\, SYM1 is a vocalist\, producer\, and performer using eurodance and alternative Y2k aesthetics to inspire a renaissance of the rave culture of the early 2000s.\n \nComrade Tripp is one of the saddest standup comedians in Minnesota\, and he wants you to know it. Born and raised in Saint Cloud\, Minnesota; a city as large as it is small\, Comrade successfully escaped to Minneapolis which is marginally better. He has also found another home on the internet\, which is several margins better. Despite his despondent disposition\, he’s a child at heart; insomuch that he cannot be trusted to take care of himself and has no self esteem whatsoever. The rest of his body is very old.\n \nYhante’ (formerly known as Taye Drina) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work has been showcased at multiple venues across the Twin Cities. Yhante’s focus aims to connect communities through mind\, heart\, and ear to foster a safer and more meaningful environment for people to come together and express themselves in night life. They have an affinity for genre bending remixes of your favorite classics\, and strive to provide unforgettable\, soul-stirring energy! \n\n \nNamed after lead singer\, Tim Dooley\, Timisarocker was formed as a 4-piece punk band from the Twin Cities in 2014. Over the years\, their style and sound has constantly evolved without changing the core value of their performance ability. With musical influences ranging from every which way\, Timisarocker prides itself in not sounding like anyone or anything else. As a band\, Timisarocker creates music that crosses many different genres in hopes to get their songs stuck in your head. They are all about breaking down barriers and advocating for those who suffer from mental illnesses\, hoping that their music brings them peace of mind and reassures them that they are not alone.\n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Featuring Leech Lake Anishinaabe songwriter and activist Annie Humphrey’s ‘The Light In My Bones’ Record Release\, Native American troubadour Keith Secola\, independent songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Ylvisaker\, and a special performance from Indigenous ally\, poet & songwriter David Huckfelt & The Unarmed Forces. First Nations Kitchen will be on-site accepting donations! \nAnnie Humphrey \nGrowing up on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation in Northern Minnesota\, Annie lived in a home filled with voices made of thunder and nothing could stop it. Her parents were brilliant people individually. Her father\, a singer and musician and her mother an artist and poet. Together they made sadness. Each of her parents taught Annie the beautiful things they knew. They showed her that she carried their gifts in her hands too. This is how creating art and music came about for her. This is what saved her. This is how she lives now. \nDavid Huckfelt \nDavid Huckfelt is a singer/ lyricist /activist and founding frontman of Minneapolis indie-folk cult favorites The Pines. An Iowa native and former theology student\, Huckfelt attended the Iowa Writers Workshop before turning his attention to songwriting and performing. With improvisational mastery\, Huckfelt’s shows and songs of no-spiritual-surrender have earned him a devoted following from small-town opera houses & theaters to national festival stages like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass\, Edmonton and Calgary Folk Fests\, and the legendary First Avenue mainroom\, sharing stages with Mavis Staples\, Emmylou Harris\, Bon Iver\, Calexico\, Trampled By Turtles & more. An early encounter and collaboration with radical Native American poet John Trudell introduced Huckfelt as friend & partner to an array of Indigenous artists & activists including Winona LaDuke\, Louise Erdrich\, & Keith Secola\, working for climate justice and tribal sovereignty under the banner of music + resistance. With roots in the same fertile Midwestern soil that produced legendary folk singers like John Prine and Greg Brown\, David’s new solo work preserves a rugged optimism that blasts through layers of dark in real time with songs that speak volumes\, soft & clear. \nKeith Secola Band \nKeith Secola is an icon and ambassador of Native music. He is one of the most influential artists in the field today. Rising from the grassroots of North America\, he is a songwriter of the people. Critics have dubbed him as the Native versions of both Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. NDN Kars (Indian cars)\, his most popular song is considered the contemporary Native American anthem\, achieving legendary status and earning him a well deserved cult following. It has been the number one requested song on tribal radio since the 1992. In 2011\, he joined the ranks of Jimmy Hendrix\, Hank Williams\, Crystal Gale\, and Richie Valens\, and was inducted into the Native Music Hall of Fame. \nJeremy Ylvisaker \nAn independent songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, producer\, and teacher living in south Minneapolis. He is one of the stars in a constellation of local musicians and artists that partner with each other in a variety of music projects including Andrew Bird\, Dosh\, Guitar Party\, The Cloak Ox\, Gramma’s Boyfriend\, and Alpha Consumer. \nWhat is First Nations Kitchen? \nUniquely\, First Nations Kitchen is a ministry led by indigenous people for indigenous people. FNK’s Ministry Team leads all aspects of the program on a volunteer-basis without compensation\, though there are specific and agreed-upon roles and responsibilities for team members such as Program/Kitchen Director\, Volunteer Coordinator and Fundraiser. In addition FNK enjoys volunteer support from 13 area Episcopal congregations\, the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) of William Mitchell\, and multiple churches of various denominations. The engagement of the partner congregations has evolved as a model for the Episcopal Church in Minnesota which in recent years has collectively discerned a call to engage opportunities for mission in regional settings\, combining efforts\, gifts\, and resources across congregational lines. \nFirst Nations Kitchen is primarily a justice-focused\, Gospel-based ministry. Its primary intent is to provide food to indigenous people who would not otherwise have access to high-quality\, fresh organic food in an environment of radical hospitality and cultural empowerment. While FNK makes full use of its relationship with the Twin Cities Coop Partners (free organic vegetables\, fruits\, and dairy) we desire to deepen its ministry by engaging its guests and volunteers in the production of its own food. It is hoped that the garden will serve as a neighborhood gathering place\, a chance to build deeper relationships with guests and volunteers\, provide an opportunity for traditional harvest ceremonies\, and bring indigenous people together to learn ancestral methods of growing their own food. \nThe FNK Ministry Team also wants to deepen and widen its program by investing in its relationships with guests and volunteers. The kitchen provides a unique opportunity to come together around common interests (mission\, Gospel faithfulness\, addressing real human need) across cultural differences that in other circumstances divide rather than unite. The team sees transformative potential in deepening their relationship with their parish partners and guests – providing opportunities to know one another better\, regularly engage the practice of Gospel-Based Discipleship\, and together confront and move beyond racism. There are countless opportunities to more deeply involve parish partners and guests beyond tasks associated with making a meal\, such as building relationships with new volunteers\, fundraising\, tilling soil\, tending the compost pile\, distributing food city-wide. We want to move from simple task-allocation to a deep\, real invitation to work together – ministry team\, parish partners\, guests — in all aspects of our mission work. We see the potential result of this harder relationship-building work and the bringing together of a more diverse collection of gifts and talents as nothing less than transformational to us all. \n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

Cindy’s celebrating her second release on Boston’s Rum Bar Records with a major blowout extravaganza featuring the snarly punk bops of the Spit Takes\, the in-your-face exuberance of Surly Grrly\, and Cindy’s fierce rock action\, all served up by the former Miss Twin Cities Pride and current diva-licious emcee Gosh Alice Jones! —–Cindy Lawson began her rock and roll career in Minneapolis in 1985 with her all-female rock band\, The Clams. Over the years\, she has played in several bands in Minneapolis and New York City\, but then took a break starting in the late 90’s. She returned in full force with a new band in 2021 and in 2022 released “New Tricks”\, her first full length record in 25 years on Boston’s Rum Bar Records. New Tricks got airplay both nationally (on Little Steven’s Underground Garage and on Little Steven’s Coolest Songs in the World) and internationally\, garnering rave reviews in publications across the globe. In April of 2023\, she released a new single and video called “Don’t Come Crying To Me” that was immediately picked for Little Steven’s Coolest Songs in the World and is currently in rotation on Sirius XM. It’s also been chosen for The Racket’s Local Music Playlist for 2023.  \nShe’s backed by longtime collaborator and inventive guitarist Jerry Lefkowitz (of The Young Nashvillians\, Something Fierce\, Whoops Kitty\, and Fauna\, among others)\, bassist and multi- instrumentalist Dave Randall\, whose rock bonafides include The Spectors\, The Boot R&B\, The Silent Treatment\, Kinda Kinky\, and many more\, and on the drums is Mark Devaraj\, who’s kept the beat going in bands High on Stress\, Whiskey Rock and Roll Club\, The Heavy Sixers\, as well as dozens of other Minneapolis bands. \nGosh Alice Jones: From the streets of Provincetown Massachusetts to the lakes of Minnesota Gosh has been the mouth on the mic hosting Rochester Pride\, Mankato Pride\, and Twin Cities Pride. She’s been Miss Gay Southeast MN\, Miss Twin Cities Pride\, Miss North Star Gay Rodeo Association and the Duchess of the Big Red Lips in the Imperial Court of MN. She’s a little bit country and a whole lot of rock and roll.  Join her in celebrating the record release of the one and only Cindy Lawson! Spit Takes is a new Minneapolis punk band with VansAnn (Pink Triggers) on vocals\, Monet Wong (Mad Mojo Jett\, The Toxenes) on guitar\, Angie Lynch (Big Salt) on bass and Charles Gehr (Pink Mink\, Seawhores) on drums. The band’s overall approach has been aptly described as “…big riffs and thunderous drumming paired with mosh-pit friendly hooks and choruses…hilarious and defiantly crude\, feminist…delivered with a zero f*cks given aplomb…”  \nSurly Grrly is a MPLS-based queercore protest band that likes to have fun while loudly fucking the patriarchy. Their live shows are filled with rage\, passion\, and politically-driven lyrics addressing bigotry\, queerness\, and misogyny. With a satisfyingly raw 80’s garage punk sound\, Surly Grrly uses catchy hooks and tempo changes to rile up a crowd\, mixing originals with a variety of classic punk rock covers. The band’s current members are vocalist/guitarist Medbh McNamara\, guitarist/vocalist Eloïse Boigenzahn\, bassist Lou Levy & drummer Peter Korhonen. \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n\n	\n \n\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n \n \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n \n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \nThis activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant\, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
