Music For Meso was born in 2019 when Jim Sheppard was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. Jim and his son Patrick always bonded over music, so Patrick created an event to bring musicians together to raise funds for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, an organization dedicated to research, advocacy, and education about Mesothelioma. After a successful inaugural year, 2020 found us hosting a virtual event. It featured bands and musicians from around the world contributing to the cause. This year we are happy to announce that the event will be back in-person! Music For Meso will feature games, a silent auction, raffles, and local musicians, all coming together for the cause, in the hopes of one day finding a cure.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
