Guitar legends Greg Koch and David Grissom will co-host an intimate, Guitar Masters Class at the Hook and Ladder. They’ll asking each other questions on tone, techniques and influences, jamming and taking questions from the attendee’s.

Milwaukee native Greg Koch has forged a successful career as a guitar player’s guitarist. He has been called “fiendishly talented” by Guitar Player Magazine and “scary good” by guitar phenom Joe Bonamassa.

Koch is widely known for his lengthy tenure as an international ambassador for Fender Guitars which listed him in their “Top Ten Unsung Guitarists.”  Greg is a contributing columnist for a variety of guitar magazines including Guitar Player Magazine which listed Greg’s  “Chief’s Blues” in their “40 Badass Blues Solos You Must Hear.”

David Grissom has toured and recorded with artists such as Buddy Guy, John Mellencamp, Joe Ely, Storyville, The Allman Brothers Band, The Dixie Chicks, Chris Isaak, Robben Ford, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Montgomery Gentry, Ringo Starr, and John Mayall among many others.  His songs have been recorded by Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, John Mayall, Shannon Curfman and Storyville to name just a few. Over the years, he has been featured in Guitar Player, Guitar World, Musician, and Vintage Guitar magazines several times.
David moved to Austin in 1983 and quickly became a stalwart on the vibrant local scene. He joined Texas legend Joe Ely’s band in 1985 and toured and recorded nonstop until 1991 when he joined John Mellencamp’s band. David made 3 records with John and toured extensively from 1991 through 1993. After, Mellencamp, David went back to Texas to form Storyville, the band that included the Double Trouble rhythm section and powerhouse vocalist Malford Milligan. Since 2000, David has divided his time between recording sessions, including three Buddy Guy records, and scores of Americana releases, along with touring with the Dixie Chicks from 2003-2007, and playing hundreds of live gigs, designing signature guitars and amps with PRS Guitars, and producing his four solo CD’s. He is currently working on his 5th solo CD.
